We have compiled a list of activities to keep you entertained during your stay at the Bainskloof Corner Lodge.  For those of you who are in need of some non active relaxation feel welcome to come to the Lodge, put your feet up and just read a book in the serenity of the Bainskloof pass.

Swimming – The beautiful Witte River is a couple of minutes walk from the Lodge. Spend the day relaxing in the tranquil rock pools.

Cycling – Cycle along the Bainskloof Pass and witness the spectacular historical views.

Wildlife – Animals to be seen are Baboons, Dassies, Kite, Cape Sugar bird, Protea Canary, Black Eagle, Owl, Mongoose, Klipspringers, Porcupine, Baboon Spiders, Snakes occasional Caracal and Leopard... and more

Photography - Bainskloof, Wellington and the surrounding farmlands offer many opportunities to photograph beautiful landscapes, sunsets, architecture, wildlife, fauna and flora.

Wine and Brandy Routes - Many of the Cape's top cellars are in or around the Wellington and Breedekloof area. Visit www.wine.co.za.

Touring - Spend a day driving the mountain passes. From Bainskloof you can plan a circular drive which will include many of the local passes, each of which has its own fascinating history and unique beauty.

These passes are ideal for both car and motorcycle touring. You might visit popular local towns Paarl, Stellenbosch, Tulbach and Franchhoek, all stunning one day drives. Or contact the local tour operators to book an informative day tour.

Hiking/ Walking - Many of the walks provided by the Limietberg Nature Reserve start at the top of the Bainskloof pass at Bainskloof Lodge The walks range from short ambles to full day or overnight hikes and are well worth the effort as the views from the top of the pass are spectacular! Kayaking (Winter only) - The Witte River is a magnificent river to paddle, however it is rated as extremely difficult. We advise kayakers to book with Gravity Adventures and not to attempt to paddle it without an experienced guide. www.gravity.co.za/
